Father, Friend and Author

Skip Van Gardner is a businessman, storyteller, and first-time author whose life took an unexpected turn during one unforgettable year that transformed him spiritually, mentally, and physically. After stepping away from writing for many years to fully experience and learn from life, he returned to the page with renewed purpose. Pivoting From Blue is his debut novel.

After two decades living and working in Manhattan, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC, Skip ultimately settled outside Orlando, Florida, where he embraced a quieter chapter centered on family, reflection, and exploration. Together, he and his wife raised two remarkable children.

Whether in the mountains of the Carolinas and Colorado or on the waters of the Bahamas and Caribbean, Skip finds inspiration in adventure and connection. He enjoys writing, sailing, fly fishing, hiking, and listening to people’s stories. Above all else, he treasures time spent with his family.
